OUR STORY & ETHOS

Since joining the Cairns District competition in 1955, the Sharks have become a pillar of regional rugby league. Our club has forged a rich legacy, including a historic run of back-to-back A‑Grade premierships in 1998 and again in 2018–2019—the first consecutive titles since our founding.
Our club champions inclusivity, teamwork, and local pride. We're deeply community-focused—open to all ages, and committed to fostering sporting opportunities for men and women across every level.
At the heart of the Sharks lies a commitment to resilience, respect, and community spirit. We grow strong together—welcoming players of all backgrounds and ages, grounded in local values and a passion for the game. Our club is more than rugby—it’s a home, a team, and a force for unity in the Douglas Shire.
